Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I’m passionate about working with diverse individuals who may have various cultural and ethnic backgrounds, differing immigration and socioeconomic status, sexualities and gender identities, and abilities.
I believe developing and building on your strengths and capabilities can support you to make meaningful change in your life. I can help you regardless of your age to explore, identify and understand your thoughts and behaviors and how they are connected to your feelings. I strive to foster and deepen your understanding of yourself, your interpersonal relationships and family of origin so that you can make decisions that are more congruent with your life goals and values leading to increased feelings of hope and confidence.
I hold doctoral and masters degrees in Clinical Psychology from ISPP (Illinois School of Professional Psychology). My doctoral dissertation explored the impact of differing parenting styles on Latino adolescents and their achievement in school. My early masters level training and work focused on adults and adolescents including court-mandated clients seeking mental health and substance abuse services (Nicasa Behavioral Health Services). I also worked with DCFS-mandated clients (Arden Shore), trained in private practice settings (Mental Health Solutions & Chicago Stress Relief Center), a therapeutic day school (Connections Day School) and community mental health agencies providing psychological evaluations and psychotherapy to individuals across the lifespan. During my most recent clinical experience, I worked primarily with people who identify with marginalized genders, sexualities and relationship configurations (kink, BDSM, fetish & vanilla, LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples and families, polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships, religious and spiritual minorities, as well as trans, genderqueer and other-gendered individuals).
I strive to offer a non-judgmental, empathic and safe therapeutic environment. I like to tailor my approach to therapy based on what you might need or find beneficial. I combine structured interventions (CBT) and psychodynamic interventions (Depth Psychotherapy) in an effort to meet you where you are at.

DISSERTATION RESEARCH
Parenting and Students’ GPA in the Latino Population: An Exploratory Study
The present study experimentally investigated Latino high school students’ grade point averages (GPA) and the parenting styles used by their parents based on Baumrind’s (1968, 1971, 1989, 1991) theory of parenting behaviors. Results from the study were limited as there was a limited number of participants; however, data trends were explored. The results indicate no significant relationship between Latino students’ GPAs and parenting styles. The majority of Latino parents were described by their high schoolers as engaging in protective and neglectful parenting. Given the results, more research is needed about parenting in the Latino population from a cultural lens to help understand the relationship between parenting and GPA in these diverse communities.
